The Makos USA Swimming Team offers year-round competitive swim training for swimmers of all abilities in Gainesville, Florida. Our program develops swimmers from beginner to national-level competitors through expert coaching and proven technique instruction.
Our Training Approach
Progressive Skill Development
We start with proper stroke technique through specialized drills at the beginner level. As swimmers advance, training incorporates cardiovascular conditioning, strength training, and race strategy. This creates well-rounded competitive swimmers prepared for lifelong swimming success.

How to Join
Qualification Requirements To qualify for the Makos USA Swimming Team, swimmers must complete our Blue Sharks program requirements:
- Swim at least one pool length of freestyle stroke
- Swim at least one pool length of backstroke
- Show readiness for competitive swim training
